Program Director, Pilot After-School Program for Children with Incarcerated Parents
Organized and facilitated an after-school program for children, ages 5 – 12, who have an incarcerated parent. Assisted in the program development, wrote weekly summary reports, evaluation of the program, curriculum development and training of new hires. Constructed the curriculum for the second cycle of the program. Conducted focus group meetings, planned events and assisted with recruitment.

Safety Education Trainer
Trained newly hired safety educators as to policies, procedures and curriculum that would be used to teach children, parents and other educators. Provided trainings to children, grade levels ranging from 1st grade to high school, on how to recognize, prevent and protect themselves from possible abductions or abuse. Worked with the director of the Center on curriculum development to provide updated safety education programs to students, parents and educators.

Health Educator – HIV/AIDS Behavior Change and Skills Building Prevention Services
Conducted HIV/AIDS workshops at California Youth Authority facilities for incarcerated youth. At Fred C. Nelles CYA correctional facility. Fulfilled health educator duties and requirements as indicated by the state funded grant such as: training youth as to the risks of HIV infection, safe sex methods, having participants complete risk assessment, pre/post-test, follow-up evaluations. Participated in the development and writing of the
Health Education/Risk Reduction Prevention Services Grant in Los Angeles County. Completed needs assessment for continuation of this program, as well as reported and submitted data for the continued state funding.

Health Educator/Curriculum Developer/Trainer
Project Enable Developmentally Disabled
Created the lesson plan and participation curriculum for an eight-hour training developed for the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities and the California Department of Developmental Services. Devised pre/post test for training, as well as coded and analyzed data for program evaluation. Conducted eight-hour training sessions for 150-200 California Youth Authority and California Department of Corrections staff to strengthen the existing efforts to identify, accommodate, treat, and provide referral services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
